A brief Description

Hosur the major city is surrounded with various industries and just 20 kms from Electronic city of Bangalore and has great connectivity on roadways. The government of Tamil Nadu has planned various expansion schemes for the future to develop the industrial town like the major cities Gurgaon and Noida.

The Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT) will commission a short study along with the amalgamation of Indian Industry on how Hosur can be changed into an IT Sector and IT-enabled Services hot spot. The Software Technology Park of India is on preparation setting up an IT park at the industrial town.

The Union Ministry of IT and Communications has directed government of Tamil Nadu to allot land for the purpose of building a TIDEL-type park in Hosur which would generate job opportunities for many and develop the Hosur city. Likewise plenty of residential complexes will be mobilized in between Hosur and Bangalore and the travelling time will also be reduced to reach Bangalore rather than within the Hosur city.

Future growth of Hosur

Various projects such as Software Technology Park, Floriculture Park, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and the development of massive commercial and residential areas wide spread the industrial town alike the satellite town of Noida and Navi Mumbai. Hosur has been merged on the strength of Bangalore's talent pool, but industrial growth is gradually improving. Hosur the industrial hub grown up for two decades and home to the manufacturing plants of Ashok Leyland, Titan Industries, T.T.K. Prestige, Reckitt Benckiser, Hindustan Lever, TVS Motors and so on, Hosur is at present looking at investments from IT (information technology) sector.

The Union Ministry of Commerce has permitted the Hosur SEZ, which will come up on over 3,000 acres at a cost of Rs. 512 crore. It is likely to attract investments from the IT sector. High-priced lands in Bangalore and recent development in Hosur, the IT companies would consider moving across the border. Travelling by roadways it is much faster to reach Electronic City from Hosur than from Bangalore city, even if the elevated expressway comes up between Madiwala and Electronic City.
