The Air India Building is located on Marine Drive in Nariman Point, Mumbai. The building consists of 23 floors which have been let out for commercial purpose. The construction of the Air India Building was completed in the year 1974 and it is solely owned the government airlines. The Central Building is one of the prestigious landmarks in this part of the city facing the Arabian Sea. The Central Building initially had around 30 firms as its tenants, but now it consists of only 2 tenants namely TCS and other one is not available. The Central Building is occupied by the TCS in the first floor, by Air India in seven floors and the rest of the 15 remaining floors are vacant and are look out for tenants for commercial purpose. At present the Central Building is worth Rs 2000 crores. The Central building was targeted by the terrorists during 1993 Bombay blasts, where many innocent people were killed in the bomb blast that rocked this place in 1993. Since then security has been tightened in and around the Central building with armed guards and commandos stationed at strategic positions inside and outside the building. The total area of the Central building is 10800 sq ft in each floor and the overall built up area of the building is approx 220,000 sq ft. The Air India Building lies adjacent to some of the Mumbai’s skyline towers such Hilton Towers and Oberoi Hotel. The place coordinates with 18 degree 55’49.74” north latitude and 72 degree 49’ 19.21” degree east longitude.
