Origin of CV Raman Nagar:
CV Raman Nagar was once a small area and had nothing to boast about. However, gone are those days and now it is one of the posh localities located in the eastern part of the city of Bengaluru. It was called Kaggadasapura and consisted of some nearby areas, however later onwards after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi in the year 1984, Shri Rajiv Gandhi who was the pilot with Air India took over reigns of the country in the year 1985, came to the city of Bengaluru in order to inaugurate the place known the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) which is a pioneering body to conduct experiments in the field of Defense.
Shri Rajiv Gandhi was impressed with the climate and temperature of this place and was influenced by the thinking of the greatest Nobel Laureate known as Shri Chandra Shekar Venkata Raman (CV Raman) who was the greatest physicist from India and gave the name as CV Raman Nagar.
CV Raman Nagar is one of the energetic layouts located in the eastern part of the city of Bengaluru. DRDO also known as the Defense Research and Development Organization came to existence in the year approx 1985 when Shri Rajiv Gandhi who was an airline pilot came and became the Prime Minister after Smt. Indira Gandhi Assassination came to Bengaluru to inaugurate DRDO and was very excited with the natural beauty of this area and coined the word known as CV Raman Nagar, after the legendary physician who carried out experiments in light known as the Raman Effect.
