A brief Description

About Amritsar , the religious most shrine of the Sikh community, generally known as the GoldenTemple, is situated in Amritsar, which gives it the status a holy city among the worship of Sikhism. It was Guru Ram Dasji who established the city of Amritsar in 1574 after purchasing land from the villagers of Tung. The Amritsar city explains its name from the SantokhsarSarovar, the construction of which was launched by Guru Ram Dasji himself. The work on lying the establishment of the Darbar Sahib was started by Guru ArjunDevji which finished by the start of the seventeenth century.

It was made the second capital of the region held by the Ranjit Singh. It was during this period that extract the Darbar Sahib was plated with gold, which led it to be known as the Golden Temple all across the world.
