BMRDA- Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority

A brief Description

Government of Karnataka in order to assist the planned development in Bangalore and nearby areas, BMRDA-the Bangalore metropolitan regional development authority an autonomous body. Under the BMRDA act of 1985, Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development authority was established. Since the establishment of BMRDA, it has been undertaking the planned development of Bangalore Metropolitan region that includes the rural and urban areas of Bangalore and MalurTaluk of the Kolar district. Chief Minister of Karnataka is the chairman of the BMRDA whereas the vice-chairman of BMRDA is the minister for the urban development acts. BMRDA: Administrative Responsibility

The most critical and important administrative responsibility of BMRDA is to combine the functioning of the other development agencies in Bangalore such as the Bangalore MahanagaraPalik, Bangalore Development Authority , the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, the Karnataka Slum Clearance Board, the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd., Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board , Karnataka State Road Transportation Corporation. The areas functioning for the BMRDA are the Bangalore metropolitan region that has been divided into five area-planning zones known as the APZ and also the IZ or the interstitial zones. Following are the areas where BMRDA map and area planning zones consists:
